Exhibitions at the Thomas Shop
Current Exhition - Fosters
Opening in February is a WI Exhibition from Brecknock Federation that was first displayed at the RWAS in 2012.
Permanent Exhibitions
Pressing Room Gallery - Wool Emporium
The Wool Emporium was initially sponsored by GLASU to demonstrate the potential for wool in everything from wool insulation (Thermafleece) to fashion. Now well established within the Thomas Shop there is an exhibition of all things wool to see and to buy. It is hoped that the exhibition will inspire the creativity in others.
Old Laundry gallery:
The restoration of the buildings which are now known as the Thomas Shop was inspired by a desire to support and cultivate local arts and craft and in a small way to support local makers. The exhibition in the Old Laundry highlights the wealth of creativity in the local area.
Previous Exhibitions
The Sewing Group at the Thomas Shop on Mondays supports a Round Robin Quilt Project that included 6 women from the group and another 6 woment from different parts of the UK and as far away as Singapore. An exhibition - Quiltese Whispers - in October 2012 attracted a lot of very positive feedback on the quality and diversity of the 12 quilt tops. The next stage in the process is currently under way and in September 2013 we hope to have all of the quilts back at whatever stage they have reached.
